This meeting was initiated by the Minister in charge of the environment, Prof Komla Dodzi KOKOROKO and facilitated by Mr. Charles S\u00e9na AYENU, Administrator of Togo at EBID (2016-2021). It is part of the overall strategy to strengthen cooperation between the TGF and technical and financial partners, including the private banking sector.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting aimed to: (i) introduce the TGF and CPO members to the EBID team; (ii) present priorities for the environment and climate project portfolio (2026\u20132031); and (iii) examine the climate financing lines offered by EBID and the modalities for structuring a financing mechanism for the private sector.<\/p>\n<p>During the meeting, the CPO-TGF delegation presented the TGF\u2019s financing strategy, its guarantee instruments, and the national green project portfolio that has already been established. To date, this portfolio comprises 42 projects aligned with the TGF\u2019s priority sectors, designed to guide the phased mobilization of climate finance for the country.<\/p>\n<p>Discussions identified several promising avenues for collaboration, notably regarding financing support for private project developers, a potential expansion to include public project financing (particularly in renewable energy and sustainable agriculture), and green bond mechanisms, an area where the EBID is already active. Both institutions agreed to establish a joint team to refine these discussions and draft a Memorandum of Understanding for imminent signature.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Pour le <\/u><\/strong><strong><u>According to the Coordinator of the Togo Green Fund (TGF) Preparatory and Operationalization Unit (CPO-TGF):<\/u><\/strong> <em>This meeting marks a significant milestone in building strategic partnerships for<\/em><em>e<\/em> <em>TOGO GREEN FUND. It demonstrates the interest <\/em><em>la <\/em><em>strat\u00e9gie de financement <\/em><em>the TGF\u2019s financing strategy has generated <\/em><em>among regional financial institutions and opens up concrete prospects for mobilizing resources to support Togo\u2019s green private sector.\"<\/em><\/p>\n<p>This meeting with the EBID is just one step in a broader effort to mobilize technical and financial partners around the TGF\u2019s operationalization, alongside institutions such as the FAO, BOAD, the African Development Bank (AfDB), and the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI). Engagement will continue with all stakeholders involved in environmental and climate-related matters.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About the Togo Green Fund<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Established by Decree No. 2026-086\/PC of May 6, 2026\u2014which defines the mandate, organization, and operations of the Togo Green Fund\u2014the TGF is a Public Administrative Establishment (EPA) operating under the dual supervision of the Minister of Environment and the Minister of Finance.
